We trace our past, present, and future
around this moment of infinity,
circling in and out continuously,
the threads of time serving as the suture
where Death and Life meet together
and die. What a strange mixture of hope and loss
here at the place of the cross.

Outside our screens
More life exists
outside our screens
than inside them.
Make no mistake:
we cannot survive
in 2D space.
Live in 3D.
Breathe outdoor air.
Squint in sunlight
until your eyes
adjust to celestial
rays. You’ll see.
I [wrote] this
with a ballpoint
pen for effect.
The en dash
Life is a flash,
An en dash
From start to finish.
The shortest elegy:
A line etched
In stone and eternity.
We are each a singularity
We are all so beautifully specific.
We are each a singularity within the ocean of eternity.
Yet, for all this infinity, Jesus meets us in our particularity.
Every moment is pregnant with potentiality
to meet the timeless one
who entered into time
and into our humanity.
My receding hairline
Youth deserts me,
fleeing away with
my receding hairline.
What does aging
reveal? Maturing wisdom
or ripening death?
How can one
tell the difference?
–Look for joy.
